Ask any business owner who has been in the game for a while and they’ll tell you the importance of doing good and giving back to the local community. As a fleet manager, the same is true for you.
As your business grows, so does your ability to meaningfully give back to the community where you operate. If you’re a fleet manager in Alabama, you have a great opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of children in your community right now by purchasing custom license tags for your vehicles from Children’s of Alabama.
“Our partners know that doing good for the community does good for their business, too.”

In Alabama (and any other state in the U.S.), nonprofit organizations can offer customized, official state license tags to any type of licensed driver as a way to raise funds and awareness for local and regional causes and campaigns.
The “Mending Kids’ Hearts” Specialty Tag Program
Every year the Children’s of Alabama Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center cares for more than 12,000 patients. While working closely with a wide range of highly specialized health care professionals—ranging from physicians to nurses to pediatric cardiologists—they are able to save thousands of kids’ lives across the state.
Now, with the statewide approval of the Mending Kid’s Hearts specialty tag program, you and your fleet can help save even more children’s lives by adorning your fleet vehicles with a custom license tag.
How the Program Works
In order for a non-profit in the State of Alabama to start issuing specialty tags, they must secure 1,000 sign-ups within 365 days. The cost for each tag is $50 with $41.25 of that fee going directly to the sponsoring charity.
Currently, Children’s of Alabama has three license tag campaigns in place—one for the Childhood Cancer Center, one to support Cystic Fibrosis treatment efforts and one for childhood diabetes treatment. Children’s is about halfway to the finish line for the Mending Kids’ Hearts tag that will raise funds and awareness for a life-changing pediatric heart treatment program.
“To date, Children’s of Alabama has raised almost $3 million for these important programs.”

Why Your Fleet Should Sponsor the Mending Kids’ Hearts Tag Program
- Your fleet would be making a ground-level impact on the community by helping your local children’s hospital care for, treat and ultimately, save the lives of the state’s most critically ill children.
- Aligning your fleet with an impactful, local charity would also align your company’s brand with key priorities of your community. The PR opportunities are endless.
- You’d be joining the ranks of your competitors. Currently, all three of Children’s of Alabama’s specialty tag programs have huge fleet participation and renewals.
